About Us
The history of the Gut Meister company began in 1995 in the fence of Bochum, when the car mechanic Jürgen Schulz broke a second key while repairing a car suspension. That evening Mr. Schulz called his nephew Thomas Bauer, who worked as a locksmith at a local factory, and asked him to make a small wrench set.
After 3 years, the spanner set from Schulz and Bauer was in almost every garage in Bochum due to its unsurpassed quality. Schulz and Bauer were so inspired by their success that they started their own small wrench company. According to the idea, their tools could help everyone to do their job in the best possible way, so that everyone could become a good master with it. And so the idea of the name of the new brand was born - «Gut Meister». From the very beginning, Bauer and Schulz have set high quality standards for Gut Meister products. To this day, you remain unchangeable.
Extension
Gut Meister's basic products were wrenches, which also served as the company's calling card. However, in view of the constant requests from customers, the company "Gut Meister" expanded its range at the end of the 2000s such as: bits, various types of cylinder heads, ratchets and others.
In order to think about the future of the company, Schulz and Bauer first expressed the guiding principles of Gut Meister in 2009: "German quality for everyone" and still have one goal, to position the company internationally . In return, they win new investors who strive with the guiding principle of Gut Meister. At the first meeting of the new co-owners in 2011, the appropriate structure of the company was created as a basis for future progress and the main task was set to make the company's products accessible not only to professionals, but also to ordinary users.
In order to fulfill these tasks, investments have been made in the promotion of innovation and the search for advanced production methods that make it possible to reduce production costs while maintaining the high level of quality. After all, good master tools appear not only in car repair shops, but also in the garages of ordinary Germans.
Orientation for Export and Relocation of production
In 2013 it was decided to expand the representation of the company "Gut Meister" on foreign markets and to start exporting the products to other European countries. One of the biggest challenges for the company's crew is to shift production to the workshops where large quantities of products can be manufactured. Gut Meister's production capacities are also developing in China.
Finally, in 2017, "Gut Meister" also entered foreign markets. The Gut Meister company has import and export partners in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
Today, all of the company's tools are manufactured in accordance with DIN and ISO standards. The number of employees has increased within 20 years from 2 founders to almost 2 000 people.
Our tools are tested daily not only in our quality control department, but also in manufacturing, in car service and in simple car garages. We also continue to work closely with real crafters to find the most effective ways for them to improve their performance. And now, when we see our idea "German quality for every person" alive every day, we are filled with pride, enthusiasm and inspiration to continue to develop and improve.
